Kate and the girls

While Kris was off photographing the groom preparation I got to stay with the girls and capture all the getting ready goodness that is involved with girls and weddings.  A bride, 2 bridesmaids, mother of the bride, makeup artist, hairdresser and photographer, all girly and all fun!  The beautiful bride has been a friend of ours for many years, even living with us at one time so we love her to bits and were so honoured to be asked to photograph their big day. There are so many moments that make a wedding day precious, sweet memories like this photo with the girls having a bite to eat and a glass of bubbly, to funny and sometimes painful moments, like when the bridesmaid accidentally zipped the mother of the bride into her dress literally… Ouch!  Kate was super chilled and relaxed when all of a sudden it dawned on her that she was getting married and she wasn’t sure whether to laugh or cry!  I almost cried myself when Kate looked at herself in the mirror for the first time after all her hair and makeup was done and she was laced into her gorgeous gown, and in a tiny voice she said…”Oh my goodness, I’m getting married” and the tears welled up in her eyes.  It’s moments like that, that make this job the best in the world.
