It was a pretty emotional sort of day, waiting in the crowd for the soldiers to come out in to the terminal. As each one came out, the crowd clapped and cheered, and one by one they were reunited with their families.
It’s especially gratifying to be invited by another photographer for an assignment like this! Janna runs Janna Collins Photography. Taking pictures for another photographer is just a little bit nerve-wracking!
Hi Kris
Thank you for these most awesome photographs. You have done a fantastic job in capturing this very emotional and special reunion of my most beautiful daughter, my adorable & handsome son-in-law and grandchildren.
I had the pleasure of seeing these photographs with both Janna & Nick on disc with the soundtrack and it reduced me to tears,of happiness and sadness. I say sadness because of the young families who have lost their loved ones.
People tend to hear and see on Television of our young men and women being deployed overseas but they never see something as personal as you have captured on their return.
These young people in the Defence Force are my HEROES, because of what they have to endure during their deployment to keep us safe.
As a mother of two beautiful people, and grandmother to two gorgeous grandsons, I have witnessed every emotion possible with my daughter for the past 9 months and I can tell you it has been a very emotional time, but I am also very proud of my daughter and grandsons, as I am of Nick, who is also my HERO.
I admire every Wife, husband,Parents,Partners, family and friends for their strength, courage, inspiration, support, love and hugs given during this time.
Thank you again for these awesome photographs, you can be very proud of your work.
I also, Thank Wanda for being such a wonderful, supportive friend
to Janna.
Yours in Gratitude
